The worst of COIVD is behind us! Going forward, we will adapt our health and safety procedures according to level of community spread. For now, our usual sanitation routine includes:
• Barber chairs sanitized after every customer.
• Disinfect cutting tools, clean and wash hands between customers.
• Cutting tools will be sanitized via UV light twice daily.
• Waiting area will be sanitized daily.
• Fans and ventilation (open doors) to promote air flow.
• Air purifier running all day.
• Please stay home if you are sick or have a sick member of your household.
• Barber may wear mask during uptick in COVID or flu cases. We will not require masks for customers unless things get crazy again.
Yes.
I am happy to wear a mask for any reason. I also have people to protect and you will see me wearing a mask in flu/COVID season - or if numbers creep up. Thanks to the appointment system there are rarely more than a 2-3 people in the shop at a time.
I understand personally that a large group of people are still vulnerable and I am here to serve you.
As of July 1, 2023 prices will be increased to cover rising operational expenses and align with industry trends.
We delayed annual price increases for over three years in order to help the community through the pandemic. However, I can no longer afford to operate so far below industry standard rates. It is my hope that many families were helped.
After this change, annual price increases will resume in January 2025.
I strive to treat everyone with respect and give my best to each customer. People come to me because I am an old school barber providing hot lather shaves and a relaxing environment.
There are a lot of great barbers in Elyria. The best thing to do is shop around until you find the right fit. If that's Shanty Row - great! If not that's ok too. There is room for everyone.
Not yet. This is something we are considering in the near future.
We started taking appointments after the COVID shut-down. Most customers liked the feature so kept it. We still take walk-ins but appointments are taken first. You can book on our website, via our Google listing or our Facebook page. Or, call my cell and I can help you out (440) 482-2910.
Tip:
If you prefer to walk-in, it would be beneficial for you to check the booking schedule or give me a call so your time isn't wasted. If need an after hours appointment please let me know.
As long as people are coming in I will stay late. Please give me a call if you can't make it before we close.
Working with special needs clients has always been a passion of mine. I used to work at Murray Ridge and Shanty Row supports the Friends of Murray Ridge fundraising events. In addition I grew-up with a disabled uncle.
From making sensory adjustments to taking extra time as needed, I do my best to create an environment that helps special needs clients feel comfortable.
Not yet, but when the time is right we will find a good match.
All licence barbers in the state of Ohio are required to complete continuing education. Each year I take the courses required by the state as well as additional classes.
